Kindergarten sign up etc....

This has been a busy 1st week of spring for us! Sorry I have no pictures because I can't find the charger for the camera!!!! Sunday Zac went to sunday school with GB for the 1st time. Saturday I took him to buy something to wear for the occassion and he picked a 3 pc suit! Can you say so so cute!!!! I've had to hide it away because he wants to wear it all the time. I guess I need to hit the stores and find him a few more ties and blazers and slacks. We have been calling him the Dr professor. Mon we headed back to Indy for Zac's orthopedic surgeon appointment. He still isn't sure where he will remove Zac's leg he is waiting for an opinion from his colleagues in Fl. The surgery will either be a symmes amputation which is removing his foot ( his ankle does not work) or a thru the knee disarticulation. I am thinking the knee will be best the symmes he may have to have another amputation in a year or so if it doesn't work. Zac's knee isn't fully functioning and his lower leg is only about 4 in and I really don't know if he will get enough function with just a symmes. So we wait and see what the other dr's say about it. The surgery is scheduled for the 21st of April. We have an April 9 appointment set for his neurosurgeon to release Zac for his spinal surgery and an April 14 appointment with the genetics clinic and rehabilitation Dr. Zac will spend 6 to 8 weeks in a wheelchair after surgery then be fitted for a new leg. I am praying we can get him up and running quick because school starts here the 19th and we held him out a year because of all the surgeries. Tues Zoe and Zac went to school to test and sign up for Kindergarten! They both did well and I was saddened that both kids just went with the school staff to take their tests while I filled out paperwork in duplicate! Sniff sniff my babies can't wait to leave the nest!!!!!! I was worried about how Zac would do on the speech testing since he's only been home 3 months and in and out of Drs and hospitals the whole time so we haven't had much time to work. He did really really well!!!! He was attentive and tried really hard to do what the speech therapist asked of him. She gave me a book to read to help get more ideas on how to grow his new language and helped us to feel confident about Zac's progress, With a series of people telling you your son has genetic issues and will be cognitively delayed etc.... every little step that proves them wrong is celebrated and Thank You GOD Zac shows all the signs he can and wants to learn. He is speaking with sentences etc.... While the vocabulary is limited he should still be just at little words.
I called yesterday for Zacs chromasomal testing results and they came back normal. They believe he has a genetic disorder but can not identify it at this time so we will have to go back regularly for them to see Zac for changes etc... I am believing GOD that he doesn't have a disorder and that it is all just his spinal bifida and the twin absorbtion that caused his leg to not be perfect.
Tonight is Zoe's open house at preschool and she is so excited to show us what she has done this year! I hope I can find the battery charger for pictures!!!! Where has this school year gone? I can't get over how fast Zoe has grown up and went from a little buddah baby to a young school aged girl with a year of school under her belt!!!!! I so dread Aug 19th, but am so excited for them and the next phase of their lives!!!!!
Ok off to clean house from a week of the flu! Pictures will come soon!!!!!
