The Results

Well I called our pediatrician this morning to get the impressions from Zacs MRI on wed. It so was not the news we wanted. I expected it to be what they said from what I have read but to hear it is the truth is such a big punch to the chest and I am still not breathing yet. I can't stop crying about it. Zac is our son no matter what and no matter what we have to go through with him his being our son will be a for always and forever. This just is a huge change in plans and we have to get our bearings here so please be kind to our family. Zachariah has officially been diagnosed with Spinal Bifida lipomyelomeningocele to be exact with a tethered spinal cord and nerve damage. He has been having problems with his bladder and so we know the nerves to the bladder are being affected. The pediatrician scheduled the nuerosurgeon appointment for tues right after we meet the IA Drs. We are stunned to say the least but know GOD knew this when he chose us to be Zacs parents. I am frightened for Zac and his future. He has had almost 6 years with something that is almost always treated here at birth. My son is quite the strong fighter and he WILL get through this and we will be by his side fighting with everything we have. He has been through so so much and has so far to go. I covet all of your prayers and support as we embark on this journey with Zac to find him relief and try to correct what needs to be corrected. I LOVE THIS CHILD SO MUCH. I so wish I could go through all of this for him. I hate to see him suffer so and he dosn't understand what is going on or why we are putting him through all of this. He is such a wonderful child. He deserves the best and I will do whatever I have to do to give him that best with GODs help. Please strand with us in prayer. When I have had time to pull myself together and we get a game plan for where to go from here I'll post. Thank you everyone for you prayers and thank you to those who have sent encouraging words the past few weeks. We are living off of them right now!!!!!! We Love you all.
Blessings

Lisa, first of all (((hugs))) as you go through this! We have a daughter with an almost identical diagnosis as Zac (home from Bulgaria when she was almost four). She is now nine, and doing so much better than we ever expected. Please email me if you would like to visit or talk!!!! You WILL get through this and some of the things they can now do medically are wonderful!!!!

Lisa, many prayers are coming your way. What a true blessing it is that Zac is home with his family and you can all go through this together with the help of God. Betsy (mom to 3 from China-not sure if you remember but we brought home our 5 year old son 2 months ago, but had been hoping to possibly meet you in China)

My sweet friend, I have been praying and I will continue to pray! God knew exactly why your precious Zac needed to be with you...so you guys can get him the help he needs and so he has a mama and baba that will be there fighting right along side him. I am so proud of you...you are being so strong and trusting in our Lord. Keep your eyes completely focused on Him and let Him bear this burden. Jeremiah 29:11...His plans are for GOOD...He's already got it all figured out. {{HUGS}} Keep us posted on how to pray!!!

Lisa,

I am behind on checking e-mail and just had the chance to catch up a little. Please know that we are lifting your family and the doctors and nurses who are caring for Zac up in prayer. What a blessing that Zac now has the love of a family to help him walk this path!
