I know I haven't posted anything in forever. Things have been really busy around here, and I have just been feeling quiet. I been in a season of quiet and those of you who really know me know I am not quiet at all. So much has happened in the last year and the world has been spinning so fast that this season in my life is very welcome. We have been shaken and are still being shaken. I think GOD is putting us in a position to do more, but needed rest and to recover. Get things back in order.
In June we went to Ga to have Zac dedicated and to meet my mom. Poor guy thought we were going to put him thru another surgery or abandon him so he threw up for the entire trip. I thought we were going to have to put him in the hospital it had gotten so bad. I was determined he was going to be dedicated and by my Bishop Swilley. So puke bucket and a roll of papertowels in hand we rolled him in to church in his new 3 piece suit. He stopped getting sick in church! He was dedicated and he finally had a good afternoon and played with grandma. He later called her when we were home to ask if he could come back to visit and he promised he wouldn't puke and that he felt better.
The Z team all played t-ball this year together on the same team. They had a blast and were so cute. Zoe tried to get every ball to give it to Zac to throw because he was in a wheelchair all season. Zeb was more interested in digging in the sand. Zac just liked to be a part of the team. He is one determined child.
Zac got his 1st leg on July 9th and hours later played his last ball game. It hurt and he was tired, but he was determined to finish the game with his leg on. Mark and I both told him he could sit on the bench and it was OK if he was tired, but he said no I want to play! He did..... I am so proud of him.
Zac spent 2 months in summer tutoring to try to get him ready for school. His language skills just aren't there yet and he needs to learn how to focus his attention.
Zoe and Zac started kindergarden on the 19th of Aug. They are in the same class and they both Love to go. Zac is starting to settle in and learn to trust us. He told his teacher he had a job to do in his orphanage and his job was to wash the babies, and he gave them their drinks. He has told Mark and I he has a brother and he'd like for us to go get him. He also tells us he left 10 babies and could I go be their mommy? He asks everyday to go back to his China. He misses his family there. It breaks my heart. He tells me he loves me now and will let me hold him as much as any 6 yr old boy will.
Zac had his 1st birthday party in July and was very embarressed by all the attention. He loved his laptop spy game he got and all the books and transformers. I made a transformer cake for him and he thought that was pretty cool.
We start all the specialist appointments again this Oct. I am praying everything comes back well. Zac has been losing weight and has had some symptoms that concern me, but I believe in miracles and I believe in miraculous intervention.
I'll post more pics of the summer soon. Please continue to pray. Zac has come so far but has a lot of hard work ahead of him, and he doesn't want to do it so I am having to be the bad cop and it is so hard when you just want to hold him close and never make him have to struggle. I know it is the struggle that turns the caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly and Zac is a magnificent butterfly caccooned and I look toward the day he breaks free and shows the world what GOD created in him!!!!!!
Be blessed!!!!!!
