We have Zac

Yesterday we went to the civil affairs office and met a very frightened cute cute cute little boy. He loved his orphanage director very much. This is the 1st time I can truly say that his director really does love this child. My heart broke to take him away because Zac really loved him and the director drew for him and they played and when we asked questions about Zac he was very animated and kept saying he is so smart. Another little girl was being adopted at the same time and Zac played with her in the SWI and when she was crying getting her new mom and dad he was watching very close to make sure she was OK. Everything is official now and Zachariah Alexander is forever and ever our son. After a long ride home where he only tried to escape the moving vehicle once or twice he settled on the floor of the van where he lost the contents of the days food all over himself and me. Poor baby. So a new pr of shoes and a new set of clothes we have slept some and now are playing with cars eating an orange and watching chinese fantasy shows on tv. He woke up and went straight to the stroller wanting to leave. He'll figure it out soon enough he is with me forever.
Zac is smart and can now say water and remember it. He is mimicking what we say. He doesn't speak mandarin or cantonese but a dialect no one understands. So no language prep has helped us. So we start from scratch and point and teach and let him try everything with in reason! I hope and pray he gets more comfortable soon. My heart breaks for him right now, but I see so much for my new son. He really is an amazing little boy.
Zoe and Zeb I love you and miss you so so much!!!!! It is saturday here and we have 11 more sleeps until we fly home to be with you!!!!

Hi Guys! Hope things are getting better as I'm typing this. Before you know it, you and your newest addition to the Pfenning Family will be home and united with Zoe and Zeb! Enjoy your time in China, as it will go by fast.

Hey, I see a couple smiles there on the first day, so that's a good sign. Hope you turn that corner soon and it's smooth sailing for the rest of the trip. All you're missing here is a bunch more snow

Oh honey,

So happy that things are getting better with the transition for Zac. He is so handsome and sounds like such a sweetheart. Our thoughts are with you all.
