Safari Park

It was a beautiful 80 degree day here in Guangzhou. We went with 3 other families from our agency to the safari park this morning. The 1st part of the park was we rode in a train that took us through the section of the zoo where the animals are free to roam. Oh my we seen animals I never knew existed. We seen yaks and white deer, deer that were HUGE I mean really really tall. White Tigers and Silver tigers, Panda bears and a baby hippo so tiny you might miss it. Zac liked the zebras and giraffes and pandas. We paid 20 rmb and I was able to feed and hold a rare white tiger cub. Can you say that was so amazing I cried. To hold a creature almost extinct in my lap and pet him while feeding him. Oh what a gift that I will never forget. The Panda that were evacuated from the earthquake are staying here at the Guangzhou safari and boy are they so cute ( well the ones that were awake). Zac was very afraid of the animals but did perk up when he seen the panda bears. He hid behind the trash when we fed the tiger. He didn't want to walk so we had to carry him around. I think a few more trips to the zoo this spring will help Zac overcome his fears. We have a zoo pass so I am hoping he'll come around.

What fun Lisa! Wish we were there with you. I love animals and how great that you could touch them. Zac looks like he is doing great and I can't believe it's almost time for you to come home. We are sending happy birthday wishes to Zeb! I know you must hope that Zoe and Zeb could be there too. Just think, in a few days all your babies will be together. Please give Zac a big and kiss from us.

Hugs,
Jonni
