Last Day In China and Consulate appointment

Our last day in China we took Zac to the American consulate to swear him in. Before we left we headed to the White Swan hotel for the famous red couch photos. There were 41 other families at the consulate that day and boy was I surprised when they called out our family to say we were there for the 3rd time and congrats on our Love and generosity to the children who need families. For the record they called out another family who was there the 4th time!!!!! It was nice to have the head of the adoptions dept for China adoptions acknowledge us I think!!!! After swearing in we went to a cantonese restaraunt with a group of families who also were there with our adoption agency. Mark ate pigeon and swan! He said it wasn't bad the pigeon tasted like grisley dark meat turkey and the swan was like greasy turkey. Hmm isn't that like saying tastes like chicken? The last picture is of Mark feeding some fish a baby bottle! We were walking the foot shopping street with Connie our friend and Mark had to show her these fish who bottle feed. Well she had to see it for herself so she paid the fee and had Mark feed the fish! It was a real crowd drawer to see the white guy feed the fish!!!! We should have charged admission!!!!!!
Zac is getting settled in here and thank goodness he doesn't think everyday is Christmas morning!!!!! What a gift for Zoe and Zeb to wake up to Mom and Dad home and a big brother sleeping under the Christmas tree. I am ashamed to admit I never got Christmas dinner made on Christmas day but I did make breakfast and we had grilled cheese instead of holiday ham!!!! I think if I can find the table today maybe we'll get that dinner made today. The house is a wreck with moving 5 people back in Christmas eve night but we'll find each room again soon. The upside to no sleep with a 5 yr old boy is I have most of the laundry all done and managed to sift through the pile of mail and pay the bills that were due and get the suitcases unpacked. Next is to get everyone to sleep somewhere else so the next all nighter I can put things away in everyones rooms. Hmm maybe a living room slumber party is in order and Zac and I can hang out upstairs. That may work!!!!!!
God has truly done what he said he would do to get Zachariah home to us. He is laughing and playing and mocking english words his siblings tell him to say. He is hugging and kissing and playing and being very brave. I am so blessed and so thankful for this 3rd miracle sent to us by God. I can not wait to see more miracles happen to our family in the comming days weeks months and years. These children are such blessings to us. Thank you Father for opening our eyes to the miracle of life and Love. I am forever changed and will be forever changing because of these gifts.
I'll post Christmas pictures later. I have to get breakfast made for my 3 laughing children now!!!!!
May 2009 be a huge blessing to you all! Much Love from the Z team!!!
